This warranty policy outlines the coverage for all BOOX devices sold through Tifan Technologies Inc. It aligns with the manufacturer's terms and Tifan's customer service commitments.
1. Warranty Overview
All BOOX devices receive a one-year warranty service provided by the manufacturer against defects in materials and workmanship.
- Duration: One (1) year from the original date of purchase.
- Open-Box Inclusion: All items sold as Open-Box units are fully covered under the same one-year manufacturer's warranty.
The warranty covers manufacturer defects that affect the functionality of the device, but does not extend to minor visual imperfections that fall within industry-accepted tolerances (see Section 3).
2. What's Covered (Functional Defects)
The warranty applies to functional failures of the device, including:
- Functional failure of the E Ink panel unrelated to pixel tolerances.
- Screen defects (dead or stuck pixels) that exceed the manufacturer's acceptable tolerance limits (see Section 3).
- Defective touch response, ghosting, or screen flickering not attributable to physical damage.
- Functional failure of included accessories (e.g., stylus) within the initial period.
3. What's Not Covered (Exclusions)
The warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, impact, liquid exposure, or improper care.
- Screen damage, such as cracks or pressure marks, caused by the customer.
- Cosmetic defects (e.g., scuffs, dents) that do not affect the usability or functionality.
- Dead or bright pixels that fall within the manufacturer's allowed limits as defined in the tolerance chart below.
4. E Ink Display Tolerances
Due to the nature of E Ink technology, minor imperfections such as small black or white spots (pixel defects) are considered a known limitation and not a malfunction. These issues are only covered if they exceed the manufacturer's established quality control standards.
